Katrina Kaif was born in HongKong. Imagine! Who could have thought of that? From being known as Salman Khan’s girlfriend to becoming the most hot and sought after actress in Bollywood, Katrina Kaif has surely come a long way. Born in Hongkong, lived her early life in Hawaii and later in England…and now earning her living in Mumbai, India. Since 2007 she has starred in several commercially successful films, making her one of the most popular actresses in Bollywood Katrina Kaif was born to a Kashmiri father and British mother. Though her father became a British citizen, she was raised in and then much later moved in with her mother in England. This was a good move because just in a couple of years, when Katrina Kaif was just 14 years old, she was offered a plum modeling assignment which changed her course of life. The hot, desi actress’ modelling work was noticed by Kaizad Gustad and he gave her a break in a forgettable film called Boom. Well, Boom bombed but Katrina managed to romp her foot right into the doors of Bollywood Tinseltown. She was flooded with modeling assignments once she shifted to Mumbai but the Bollywood directors were still averse of signing her for their masala films because she could not speak Hindi to save her life. But then came, Namaste London, A film by Vipul Shah, starring Akshay Kumar. This film was a massive hit which signalled the arrival of Hot Kat into the big bad world of Desi Bollywood Movies. The rest as they say is ‘not so much’ history but some chemistry, for sure. Hmm…surely you get the drift.

After giving many hits with Akshay Kumar like Singgh is Kingg & Welcome… and sometimes without him like Partner and Race, Katrina Kaif has truly arrived in Bollywood. Moreover, the icing on the cake was put when our sexy hot doll was recently given the title of a 'real' doll. Yes, she is the brand ambassador for Mattel's Desi Bollywood Barbie, which is all set to launch in September 2009.
