Psychological Sci Fi thriller Splice is really twisted and awesome as we know that two young rebellious scientists try to splice together human and animal DNA to create a new organism.
We have already posted both trailer and clip for Vincenzo Natali’s long anticipated movie which stars Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley as Clive and Elsa.
But we have now a better look at the creature Dren (Delphine Chaneac) developed from a deformed female infant into a beautiful but dangerous winged human-chimera. She’s more like beauty and the beast, and she has sign danger written all over herself.

Actually, what kind of animal does Dren resemble?
While this female creature inspires maternal feelings in Elsa, she evokes something far-from-paternal in Clive, something that poses a threat to them all. Then, when this seemingly perfect organism makes a final, shocking metamorphosis, it is mankind itself that is threatened.

And if you think that something better could be made from human and animal, then you should consult with the director and get the access to that creepy laboratory of his.
Here’s the official sinopsys: The film stars , the superstars of the genetic engineering world. They specialize in splicing together DNA from different animals to create fantastical new hybrids. The charismatic couple wants to use human DNA in a new hybrid – something that could yield astronomical medical benefits.
The pharmaceutical company that funds their research, however, is more interested in exploiting their earlier triumphs for easier, short-term profit. Clive and Elsa secretly conduct their own experiment. The result is Dren: an amazing creature who exhibits an array of unexpected developments, both physical and intellectual. Dren exceeds their wildest dreams… and, ultimately, their most terrifying nightmare.

Splice was originally shot in 2007 and the movie has played at all kinds of festivals, including 2010 Sundance, and has been widely seen enought to rack up an 8,2 on IMDB…but won’t get a legit release until this summer, June 4, 2010.
